Okay, so.... the rumours are true.

I realize that not everyone has been in the loop from me for a while, and I apologize for that. Since February 2024, one of the unspoken stipulations of our room-and-board situation has been that I keep a low profile and not cause trouble to come back to us.
Between that concern and my work/life balance having not been great of late, I have indeed been commuting, chauffering, and working, as well as doing some surveys of the remains of the Web 1.0 landscape that lies beyond the social media gated communities.

But that setup had always been intended to be temporary, so when an opportunity posting presented itself, I took it.

That posting, however, is in Prince George .

I guess it should go without saying that Jenn and I had been able to set aside funds in First Home Savings Accounts over the past two years, but even with that, any bank in the Metro Vancouver area would -- well, they would laugh politely at our down payment attempt, but nonetheless, they would laugh in this market. But Prince George is a different story -- one with a few places to which I could transfer, and lo! in April 2026, there was an opening. And here we are.

Much has already been packed up, and on the 15th, the move starts in earnest. I'll have a week before then to get everything in order, some of which I have already started. Postal Forwarding will be in place by then, so.... we'll see how I fare on both the journey and the settling-in.

comments
